To ensure the health, safety, and comfort of all cats in our care, we kindly ask that owners review and follow the boarding requirements below:
Minimum Age
We welcome cats from 8 weeks old and above.
Vaccination Requirements
To comply with AVS licensing standards, all cats must be protected with a valid FVRCP vaccination throughout their stay.
• Kittens (8 weeks and above): Must have received at least one dose of FVRCP that covers the full duration of their stay.
• Adult cats: Must have completed the full FVRCP vaccine series or provide a valid antibody titer test showing sufficient immunity.
• If your cat cannot be vaccinated due to medical reasons, a veterinarian’s letter is required to confirm both exemption and fitness for boarding.
Sterilisation
Cats aged 7 months and above, or those showing signs of on heat (such as spraying or marking), must be neutered or spayed prior to boarding.
Parasite Control
To maintain a parasite-free environment for all guests:
• Cats must be free of fleas, ticks, mites, ringworm, and internal parasites.
• A spot-on parasite treatment must be provided at check-in for application.
• Accepted brands include: Advocate, Broadline, Frontline, Revolution, and Revolution Plus.
General Health
• Cats must be in good health upon arrival.
• If your cat has recently recovered from an illness or injury (within the past 34 days), a vet’s letter confirming readiness to board is required.
• Cats showing signs of contagious illness (e.g. sneezing, coughing, diarrhoea) will not be admitted.
Boarding Documents
Prior to boarding, owners must complete:
• Our Master Boarding Agreement
• A detailed Pet Assessment Form including feeding routines, medical notes, and emergency contacts
Physical & Behavioural Checks at Check-In
Upon arrival, our caretakers will perform a brief physical and behavioural assessment to ensure your cat meets our requirements.
We may respectfully decline boarding if:
• Required documentation is incomplete or missing
• The cat does not meet our health, vaccination, or behavioural requirements
• The cat shows signs of severe stress or aggression, making safe handling difficult
Special Care Considerations at PetPat
For Kittens
We understand that kittens need a little extra care and patience. Our team offers gentle handling, close monitoring, and added attention throughout their stay.
To ensure a smoother experience, we recommend that kittens are:
• Familiar with basic litter box habits
• Have started their FVRCP vaccination course before boarding
This helps your kitten adjust more comfortably and safely to their temporary home.
For Senior Cats
Older cats may require additional support, whether it’s for mobility, medical care, or special diets. If your cat has existing health conditions or needs specific routines, please let us know in advance.
We may request updated medical records or a vet’s clearance for cats aged 13 years and above to ensure they are fit for boarding and receive the right level of attention.
If Medical Attention is Needed During Boarding
Your cat’s wellbeing is our top priority. If your cat becomes unwell while in our care:
• We’ll contact you or your emergency contact immediately
• Should urgent care be required, we’ll seek treatment from one of our trusted veterinary partners
• All veterinary costs will be billed to the owner
By choosing to board with PetPat, you agree that our team may act in your cat’s best interest in the case of a medical emergency.
